My work revolves around four main themes, each exploring a facet of what inspires, fascinates, or amuses me. These universes are not rigid categories but gateways to celebrate beauty, humor, and the freedom to be—without taboo or pretense.
Wonder
This theme encompasses everything that evokes a sense of awe in me for the world around us. Galaxies, nebulae, the life cycles of stars, and the infinite diversity of animal and plant species—all are expressions of a nature that is both complex and poetic.
What intrigues me is how humans project symbols, stories, and even hopes onto these natural elements. A squirrel becomes a metaphor, a mountain a challenge, a star a deity. By depicting these subjects, I aim to elevate them, placing them in compositions that feel almost heraldic. My goal is to invite the viewer to pause, to look longer, and to be intrigued by their surroundings—perhaps even recognizing a part of themselves in them.
Food
Cooking is far more than a necessity: it is an art, a language, and a vessel for memories. As an Italian, I grew up in a culture where every meal is a celebration, every utensil a tool steeped in history, and every dish an excuse to come together.
This theme is a tribute to the alchemy that transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. I depict food and kitchen tools with a focus on their evocative power. I want to remind people that behind a tomato or a knife lie centuries of tradition, repeated gestures, and shared pleasures. My aim is to awaken memories, inspire a desire to cook, and celebrate this uniquely human ability: turning a vital need into a source of joy.
Fun
For me, humor is a way to defuse tension, play with expectations, and remind us that life is best taken lightly. I love visual puns, wordplay, and clever twists that elicit a childlike smile.
My approach is always kind: no caricature, no mockery, just gentle, sometimes cheeky irony that invites people to see things from a different angle. The idea is to create images that, through their apparent simplicity, bypass defenses and offer a moment of complicity.
Sex
Sex is a natural subject, yet it is still too often shrouded in embarrassment or silence. In this theme, I draw inspiration from the unapologetic freedom of queer culture, where desires and cravings are expressed without inhibition. My goal is to normalize what is human, exploring it in a way that is both poetic and playful.
I depict the body and desire with honesty, but without provocation or vulgarity. The aim is to show what makes us blush in such a simple, matter-of-fact way that the observer might think: *”Yes, this is sex. So what?”* My work here is a celebration—of the male body, the diversity of desires, and the freedom to embrace what pleases us, without judgment or guilt.
A Borderless Approach
These themes are not boxes but invitations. They interact, blend, and enrich one another. Whether through wonder, indulgence, humor, or desire, my goal remains the same: to create images that resonate, gently provoke thought, and remind us that beauty—in all its forms—deserves to be celebrated.
